Nephylim

Last week of the “KINSHIP” Tour with IOTUNN & IN VAIN

LAST WEEK OF THE EUROPEAN TOUR

This will be the final tour diary update: only four shows left.

We kicked things off with our last Eastern European show at Pod Minoga in Poznań (PL). Having played there last year on our first EU tour supporting Thulcandra and Sacramentum, we thought we knew what to expect… but we were wrong. From the very first moment, the crowd was locked in. True melodic death metal fans: chanting, headbanging, and giving it their all from start to finish. An incredible way to close the Eastern European leg.

Next stop: Kassel, Germany.
We already knew German metalheads are among the most dedicated, but Kassel took it to another level. The venue was packed, the crowd right up against the stage, barely half a meter away. And the energy? Absolutely insane.
If Poznań was wild, Kassel was pure chaos..in the best way possible. Not “blood, sweat and tears,” but “sweat, sweat and more sweat.” What a comeback in Germany!

Then came the long-awaited homecoming: Utrecht, Netherlands.
At De Helling, we played our only fully sold-out show of the tour…in our own country. We’ve never seen that many Nephylim shirts in one place. We were genuinely blown away. Thanks to all fans who come out to support us! That energy pushed us even further. Focused, determined, and completely in sync, we delivered what might have been our best show of the entire tour. A homecoming we’ll never forget.

Second-to-last stop: Hamburg.
Originally planned for Bambi Galore, the show was upgraded to the larger Kronensaal… and it was needed. Once again, a packed venue and a crowd that matched the intensity of every German show before. We love Germany… simple as that.
That night also turned into our final big tour party. After the show, the entire crew gathered outside the venue—beer and wine flowing, everyone celebrating what we’d accomplished together;  the euphoria was clearly present. We were joined by some venue staff members, whom eventually invited us to come inside again and continue the party in the … Bambi Galore! There is no need to explain to anyone how it went further… in short: we had a GREAT time!Final show: Copenhagen, Denmark, at the massive Amager Bio—home turf of Iotunn.
The biggest indoor stage we’ve ever played. Intimidating? Perhaps a bit. But it only made us more determined to own it. And then. mid-set, during “Withered”: Instant chaos.
Out of nowhere, members of the tour crew stormed the stage, lightsabers in hand, shouting and battling around us. Completely unplanned, completely unexpected. We tried to stay serious… but we broke. And honestly, it made the moment even more special.
The rest of the set was tight, powerful, and judging by the reactions at the merch table: we’ve been well received. Fans from Denmark, Sweden, and even Finland came to talk to us, urging us to visit their countries. We hear you, and we’ll work on it!

Recap:
For two and a half weeks, 22 people shared one tour bus, one goal: bringing their music to as many people as possible. We experienced countless cities, cultures, and faces—but everywhere we went, one thing connected it all: the love for music. To everyone who came out to a show: thank you. Your support means everything to us!

A special thanks to Iotunn, In Vain and their crew members for having us during this tour, but also for being the kindest, warmest people and made us feel welcome from the start. Sharing all your stories and laughs will be a memory we will cherish for ever. Touring with you all has been an honor!

This tour gave us more than we could have hoped for, and we hope we gave something back.
We’re heading home with new friendships, incredible memories…

And one final message:
Until next time!

Second week of the “KINSHIP” Tour with IOTUNN & IN VAIN

SECOND WEEK OF THE EUROPEAN TOUR

We kicked off the second week of the tour with our final show in France, in the idyllic town of Colmar—and what a day that was.

As a band, we managed a (very) quick run through the town, trying to soak in its beauty. Unfortunately, time wasn’t on our side, so everything we saw, we saw in a rush. Still, the rest of the day went smoothly. And the show that night? Absolute madness. The Colmariens were with us from start to finish—completely blowing the roof off the place. It was hot (maybe even hotter than Saarbrücken), it was loud, and it became a night to remember.

Taking this show, along with the two previous French dates, into account, we can only draw one conclusion:
Nephylim loves the French!

The next day, we arrived in Aarau, Switzerland. Honestly, we could copy-paste the previous day: limited time to explore, a smooth soundcheck, and a show that went absolutely wild. The Swiss love Dutch melodic death—and we love the Swiss!

Next stop: Backstage, Munich.
Good grief, what a venue. Three stages of different sizes—we played the medium one—surrounded by a green artificial area that gives off tropical holiday vibes. The atmosphere was incredible. This felt like the start of something great… or maybe not, depending on who you ask.
Most of us had an amazing night, but our guitarist Ralph might disagree: a broken string on his main guitar, a backup that suddenly (and inexplicably) failed mid-song, forcing him to finish the set on his original guitar—with only five strings. Despite that, the audience didn’t seem to notice (or didn’t care) and went all in. They loved the show.
In every sense: a night we won’t forget.

Now we head east: Budapest (HU), Ljubljana (SI), Vienna (AT), and Prague (CZ).
[Poznań, Poland will be covered in the next tour diary update]

This is relatively new territory for us, and we’re excited to present ourselves to Eastern European crowds. Production-wise, things got a bit smaller—tighter venues, smaller capacities—but the metalheads here are something else entirely. We noticed incredibly dedicated “superfans” for our tour mates in In Vain and Iotunn:

  • Fans attending multiple shows across different countries
  • Fans creating their own signs based on song lyrics and holding them up during performances

This is something we rarely see in Western Europe. Even though it wasn’t directed at us, we absolutely loved it. That level of dedication is what every band dreams of—something to strive for. And it inspired us: we want to build that kind of following in the East.
The shows themselves went very well. Most of the audiences hadn’t heard of us before, so it took a bit more time for them to get into our music compared to earlier shows. But in the end, the reaction was the same: headbanging, chanting crowds clearly having a great time.

Western and Eastern Europe may differ in culture, language, and traditions—but when it comes to metal, they are exactly the same: They love it.

First week of the “KINSHIP” Tour with IOTUNN & IN VAIN

FIRST WEEK OF THE EUROPEAN TOUR

So… the first 7 shows of the “KINSHIP” tour with IOTUNN and IN VAIN are done—and what a ride it’s been!

We kicked things off with three shows in Germany, and as always: the Germans never disappoint.
Aschaffenburg, Ragnarök Festival (Lichtenfels), and Dortmund were incredible. The crowd was locked in from the very first to the very last riff—screaming when asked, headbanging all the way through every set. For us as the opening band, that means a lot. It’s not always easy to go on first while people are still warming up, but so far that hasn’t been the case at all. You’ve been there from the start, and that makes our job so much easier.

On day four, we headed back to our homeland: Sittard, NL.
Back to the land without mountains, with that familiar (slight) breeze, and where we can finally speak in our own tongue again. We even had a bit of time to check out the city… well, a tiny bit. Until now, that hasn’t really been possible with the tight schedule and getting used to life on the road. Takeaway from the day:
Sittard has a beautiful city center—and southern Dutch crowd loves melodic, progressive death metal!

Next up: Saarbrücken, Germany.
Short version: it was hot (REALLY hot!), packed, and just absolutely killing. Completely in line with the other German shows.
We love you, Germany.

Then came the first real test: France.
We’d never played there before, so our debut at Backstage by the Mill in Paris—right next to the legendary Moulin Rouge—was something special. And what a debut it turned out to be! From the start, the crowd was all in: screaming, headbanging, horns in the air. We’ve never signed that much merch in one night before!
Same story in Nantes: the French brought the energy, and we loved every second of it.

Quick throwback to day one.
As always, the start of a tour is a bit chaotic: bands arriving at different times, everyone figuring out the gear and the merch (and there’s a LOT of both), and of course—each other.
Just imagine: 19 days on the road with 22 people, all packed into one tour bus, most of whom you’ve never even met before. And still—the vibe is amazing. Everyone is down-to-earth, on the same level, and the humor is spot on. It all just clicks. The group dynamic couldn’t be better—we’re all on the same wavelength.

We couldn’t have asked for a better tour package.

Second full-length “Circuition” is out now!

Nephylim releases “CIRCUITION”!

With enormous proud and joy, we present you our second album “Circuition”!

Circuition” – “The act of going around” – is the long awaited successor of our debut full-length “Severance of Serenity”. The first physical release featuring Tijn Bosters on (lead) vocals.

Similarly like the debut album, “Circuition” this album is concept-based in which the concepts of “the cycle of life” and the “wheel of fate” are elaborated. Each song on the record is connected to a meaning or state of being, like the origin of life: birth, consequences of old age, or everyone’s perception on the circulation of life.

Every human “cycle of life” starts with a little seed: a fetus. Small, innocent and full of energy. The further one get on its cycle of life, the more (s)he grows and will cross and deal with the difficult aspects of life. This comes with the cost of slowly losing one’s natural energy.
Metaphorically: from the start everyone’s inner tree grows and becomes strong until it becomes old. Resulting in a barren and withered tree, which eventually dies. This visualization of the album concept is realized by acclaimed artist Giannis Nakos (Remedy Art & Design).

By pushing boundaries on the overall production and quality, music and lyrical compositions, “Circuition” has become a product which is believed to fit in with the global elite.
With the help of a crowdfunding campaign, the public has financially supported to the band, and made clear that they are keen and ready for “Circuition”.. and finally… that day is here!

Ralph Lentink comments:
“With “Circuition” our long treasured wish of a second full-length finally has come true, and we couldn’t have been more proud!
The entire maturity of the music, overall production and people we have worked with to get the album as it, is something to cherish.
Thank all to whom have participated during this road, and enjoy the record to its fullest!”

2nd single “Circuition” is out now!

Titletrack “Circuition” is out now!

Proudly, we present you the titletrack of our upcoming album “Circuition”!

Circuition” – “The act of going around” – elaborates the endless, wandering circulation while being lost in life, which could happen when one encounters a large personal loss like losing a partner, a dear family member or other loved one.
In time, the accompanying grief and pain will make place for a restless strive for a way to resume your life as before: the act of bringing back the motion in your cycle of life. Resulting in the creation of opportunities to pave new paths.

Martijn comments:
‘Our title track “Circuition” is definitely one of our most daring and ambitious songs to date. The dynamic within this song is absolutely enormous and is a musical path we have not walked before. Going from ballad-like softer parts accompanied with clean emotional vocals straight into epic heavy structures with a beautiful orchestral arrangement to give it the extra cherry on top. Lyric wise the song is quite personal and about coping with loss, finding your way and making sense into an always revolving world.‘

Ralph adds:
‘The first time I heard the track “Circuition” completely mixed, I had goosebumps! To me, this song is the perfect mix of fragility and emotions, combined with epicness and explosiveness. Together with the deep meaning of the lyrics, makes this song one of my absolute favorite of the entire record.’

This brand-new release is accompanied with a lyric video, created Andea Mantelli (AM Production).
